The ultimate beneficiaries of the programme were the coastal populations of the focus countries of ReCoMaP in the WIO region. This included the stakeholders concerned with marine and coastal resources management, including fishing communities, economic operators, professional associations, resource users, private investors and civil society as a whole.
The national and sub-national institutions, research and training centres concerned with marine and coastal management - including environmental conservation, fisheries, land use planning, urban and tourism development and other relevant sectors affecting directly or indirectly the coastal resources and the socio-economic activities - have benefitted from a regional cooperation platform, facilitating capacity building, exchanges and networking.
