ReCoMaP Result Area 6
![]() This is the largest result area in terms of funding. This result area gives the opportunity to NSAs such as, NGOs, Community Based Organisations (CBOs), Associations, locally elected bodies, and intergovernmental organisations, to play an important role in promoting Integrated Coastal Zones Management in the region. ReCoMaP supports their efforts by giving them the opportunity to design and manage their own projects which are funded through a Call for Proposals (CFP) scheme.
The CFP is a demand driven requiring that the applicants submit their project proposals. The proposals are evaluated in accordance with the procedures. The selected projects receive a grant that covers up to 95% of the eligible costs.
Since the CFP is demand driven, it is important to communicate this opportunity to the NSAs. This is done through an information and sensitisation campaign on the CFP, a campaign which is conducted through mass media, e.g. radio, TV, the web and through awareness sessions.
ReCoMaP puts the applications for funding through a rigorous selection process. Once selected the NSAs projects then receive funding to allow them to start with the implementation.
Grants ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 Euros are disbursed for the various projects which have a lifetime of 24 months. During this period the projects are monitored by ReCoMaP to make sure that they are following the agreed upon plan.
ReCoMaP provides help to the NSAs in the preparation of their applications. After they have been selected ReCoMaP provides further help with the provision of consultants and training. Thus ensuring a well planned and executed project as well as skill sets that will remain after 2011.
